

John Michael Kilgore Patrick after a long illness, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, September 18, 2008 in Springville , Utah . Mike (as he was known to his family) was born in Beaumont , Texas to John and Caroline Patrick on December 14, 1947. He grew up in Logan , Utah and attended Logan High and Utah State University . He also served honourably in the Navy during the Vietnam War. But the true love of Mike's life was music. He was a gifted musican picking out tunes on the piano at the age of four. He played the guitar and the trumpet but found his greatest joy in improvising rock and blues compositions on the piano, to the delight of everyone who knew him. His gift of melody, his offbeat wit and intelligence will be sorely missed. Mike will be buried next to his father Lt. Col. John M. Patrick (USMCR) in Georgetown , Texas . Mike is survived by his mother, Caroline Patrick of Tucson, Arizona ; brother S. Ray Patrick (Hanya E. Poczynok), of Bellevue, Washington; sisters Peggy Patrick Medberry (Chauncey Medberry) of Canyon Country, California and Caroline J. Patrick of Tucson, Arizona. A visitation will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel on Wedensday September 24, from 6pm to 8pm. A graveside will be held Thursday at 11am at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown, TX. Services are being handled by The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N IH 35, Georgetown, TX 78628.
