Johnny Young, 56 of Florence Passed away September 15, 2022. He was born February 9, 1966 in Temple, Texas to John Boyd Young Sr. and Margaret "Maggie" Young.
Johnny was a hard worker from an early age. Tinkering with cars and working in the oil fields in West Texas, then moving to the Austin area and making a living as a mechanic. There wasn't a vehicle made that he didn't know at least a little about. NASCAR, Barret Jackson and Mecum auctions were usually on the TV, as well as car and truck fixer upper shows and American Pickers. Anyone that knew him has seen pictures and heard stories about that Big Red Truck he had, one of his most prized possessions!
After marrying Roxan, Johnny developed a passion for hunting. While enjoying deer hunting immensely, he really loved a good predator hunt!
Just a short time before Johnny left this earth he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Although he wasn't in a hurry to leave his loved ones here, he knew he had many family and friends waiting to welcome him home.
Johnny is survived by his, loving wife, Roxan Young; father and step-mother, John and Dinah Young of Indiana; Mother and step-father, Maggie and Sherry Bradley of Austin, Texas; daughter and her husband, Erika and Nick Sargeant; step-brothers, Michael and David Weir; as well as his thirteen grandchildren he so cherished; along with numerous other family members and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffrey DeWayne Young; sister, Audra Young; step-sister, Teresa Weir; and brother Eddie James Young.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Austin and the Christopher House.
