Linda Bernice Noack Almazan, 79, was born in Walburg, Texas, on November 24, 1946. She was the sixth of nine children of August and Rubina Noack. Linda was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church on December 15, 1946, and confirmed into the faith on March 26, 1961, at the same church. A Georgetown High School graduate, Linda was the Salutatorian of the Class of 1965.
After high school, Linda moved to Austin and worked for TRS for five years. During that time, she bought her yellow '68 Camero and met Isaias Almazan, Jr. at the wedding of a mutual friend. Jr. told Linda that she needed to say goodbye to the gentleman she had been dating because he was going to marry her. Thankfully she listened, and the two were married on September 5, 1970, at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg. They then moved to Victoria, TX, where Jr. was an Ag teacher at Stroman High School. While in Victoria, the couple welcomed their first son, Darren, in 1974, and their daughter, Sherlyn, in 1978. In 1979, the family moved to Iowa for two years, while Jr. completed his doctorate at Iowa State, and Linda cared for their family and took classes.
Returning to the Georgetown area in 1981, the couple started a general carpentry business, Almazan Builders, with Linda as the office manager for 38 years. In 1983, they welcomed their third child, Stanley. The couple bought land in 1982 that is still home today and moved there after building a home on it.
In addition to being an office manager for the family business, Linda dedicated herself to her children, her church, and her friends. She had a kind word for anyone she met and truly had a servant’s heart. Visitors would often see her outside watering her plants or in the kitchen cooking comfort food, including her famous chocolate chip cookies. She loved spending time with her siblings, and when the Noack 9 were together, the laughs and conversations were loud and constant.
Growing up on a farm, Linda loved gardening. She served on Zion’s Altar Guild, was head of the Wurstbraten Bread Team for many years, and was always ready to help at church. Her grandchildren remember her as a loving Grandma who was always ready for adventures. Even as Alzheimer’s progressed, she maintained her beautiful smile.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Samantha Scott, parents August and Rubina Noack, and siblings Edgar (Ramona) Noack, Viola (Bud) Fehl, and Laura (Mark) Wolf. Her legacy lives on in Jr., her husband of 55 years; surviving children Darren (Jamie) Almazan, Sherlyn (Chad) Scott, and Stanley (Jacque) Almazan; siblings Margaret (Bill) Kalmbach, Clara (Woodrow) Urban, Estella (Garland) Midgett, Richard (Paula) Noack, and Melvin (Judy) Noack; grandchildren Madison Almazan, Chesni & Kayla Scott, Jaylee Ragsdale, Parker & Addison Almazan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda passed away peacefully in the hospital on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, surrounded by Jr., her children, and grandchildren. She will be laid to rest at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Killeen, TX. The family would like to thank the staff at Baylor Scott & White Round Rock Hospital and Taylor SPJST Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center for the love and care they showed to Linda the past month. Memorial donations can be made to sMiles 4 Sammy Foundation.
Linda’s Confirmation Verse: "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand." John 10:27-28
