

Lola Eileen Haney Saski, 92, most recently of Georgetown, went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 2, 2014. Lola's family will gather for visitation on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown. A service of Celebration and Thanksgiving will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00PM in the chapel at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the North Belton Cemetery in Belton. Honoring Lola's memory serving as pallbearers will be grandson, Steven Anderson, great grandsons, Colton Anderson, Jay Eddie Anderson, Jerry Anderson, and nephews James Norment, and Aaron Norment. Lola was born July 20, 1921 in Bartlett, Texas to the late James Monroe Haney and Nettie Mae Guthrie Haney. She was raised as a young girl in the Bartlett area before her family moved to the Florence area where she later graduated high school. Lola married the love of her life, Eddie John Saski on August 31, 1940. Together Eddie and Lola raised their family in the Belton area. Along with being a homemaker for her family, Lola worked for many years as Eddie's bookkeeper for his plumbing business. After Eddie's death, Lola moved to the Georgetown area where she was a long time active member of Main Street Baptist Church. Over the years she and her sisters Mildred and Lois, enjoyed going to the Stonehaven Senior Center for the Monday soup lunch. As well, the three ladies traveled all over the country but their favorite trip was to Nova Scotia. Lola's creativity stretched from sewing her daughter's clothes, crocheting, painting, crosswords and reading. Her passion above all was her family and friends, Lola cherished her time spent with them. There are many precious memories and mementos her family will carry in their hearts and lives. It was Lola's faith and trust in Christ that brought her through her 92 years of life, she passed that on to her family for them to grow with and continue her legacy. Lola is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 46 years, Eddie John Saski; her brother, Harvey Isaac Haney; and her sister, Lois Mae Haney. Lola leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Linda Richey and her husband Jay of Bartlett and Carolyn May and her husband Dean of Georgetown; her sister, Mildred Haney Norment; 4 grandchildren, Jon Anderson and his wife Gloria, Steven Anderson and his wife Melinda, Darren May and his wife Becky and Joell DeLeon; 8 great grandchildren, Joshua Anderson, Kimberly Anderson, Jay Eddie Anderson, Rachael Anderson, Jerry Anderson, Colton Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Nathan May and Devin May; one great great grandson, Genesis Craig Anderson; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
