Mary Kathryn Eckert

Mary Kathryn Eckert (Mary Kay) was born on December 3, 1938 to E. A. "Dutch" Speriky and Olive Nicklas Speriky in Shreveport, L.A. and died at home on September 11, 2015 at the age of 76. Mary Kay attended Lamar University where she met her husband James Dudley Eckert. They were married on April 5, 1958 and moved to Austin in 1959 where they raised 3 children. In 1983, the couple moved to Weir and enjoyed living the "Country Life". Mary Kay sold Real Estate for years in the Round Rock and Georgetown areas and enjoyed meeting and helping many new friends find their dream homes. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dudley Eckert, children Stephanie Kay Eckert of Hutto, Jay Dudley Eckert of Georgetown and Laura Delaine Eckert of Weir; her beloved pets and many wonderful friends. The family wishes to thank all of the "Angels" at Altus Hospice for their kindness and loving care. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Home in Georgetown (393 N. IH 35).Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Home in Georgetown with Brother Kenneth Hickman officiating.
