

Ray W. Perkins age 87, of Georgetown Texas formerly of Montgomery, Texas, passed away on Monday January 7, 2008. He was born to Schmick Judson Perkins and Allie Mae(Williams) Perkins on May 12, 1920 in Watonga, Oklahoma. Mr. Perkins Served in the Army Air Corps in 1941 during WWII, participating in The Sicilian Campaign, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. On June 3, 1946 Ray married Eula L. (Lott)Perkins in Kermit, Texas. He worked for Reed Tool Co. as a Salesman and sales manager selling oil drilling equipment. After retiring from Reed Tool Co. in 1976 he founded and owned Surmat Inc. Ray W. Perkins was a member of Oak Forest Church of Christ in Houston, Texas where served as one of the elders. He enjoyed working with the youth through Junior Achievement , Little League Coaching, and as a school mentor in Montgomery, Texas. Some of the things he also enjoyed were fishing trips with his family, and traveling. Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife of 61 years Eula L. Perkins; daughters Marilyn Perkins of Georgetown, Texas, Barbie Jones of Amarillo, Texas; brother Robert Perkins of Taylors South Carolina; grandchildren Jill Blanton, Adam Hultquist, Patrick Jones, Alexander Hultquist and Jeremy Jones; great grandchildren Cambria and Teague Blanton. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Herman Perkins. Pallbearers will be Robert Perkins, Douglas Hultquist, Dr. Milton Jones, Pvt Adam Hultquist, Alexander Hulquist, and Dr. Kevin Blanton. Honorary Pallbearer is Jay Sloan. Visitation will be Wednesday January 9, 2008 from 5-6:30pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be Thursday January 10, 2008 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow to Central Texas State Veteran Memorial Cemetery. The Family asked that Memorial Donations be made to Wesleyan Nursing Home or The Alzheimers Foundation. Wesleyan Homes P.O.
