Rosa “Rose” Lee Davila, 71, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was born and raised in Georgetown, TX on December 12, 1953 to parents Daniel and Filiberta (Coronado) Zavala. To know Rose truly was to love her. She was one of a kind. She always knew how to comfort you and how to make you feel special. She had a great memory and remembered even the smallest of details that let you know just how much she cared. She was thoughtful, compassionate, hard-working, effortlessly funny, and ahead of her time. Rose dedicated her life to her family and loved unconditionally. She found hope and peace in prayer. She was completely selfless and possessed unyielding strength, resilience, patience, and integrity. She also sent the best GIFs and emojis to brighten your day and put a smile on your face. For over 10 years Rose worked for the Williamson County Health Department with the WIC program. The time she spent helping women and children was very meaningful to her. Rose then began working at Georgetown High School for nearly 30 years until her well-deserved retirement in 2019. She started by helping with the Accelerated Eagles program, before assisting with health services in the nurse's office, and then wearing a multitude of hats as the front desk receptionist. All throughout, both staff and students loved and leaned on “Ms. Rose.” She always went above and beyond to help everyone and she gave the same amount of care and respect to all. She brought light and laughter anywhere she went.Rose had a genuine curiosity for life and a passion for learning, politics, and civil rights. She had an appreciation for diverse cultures and a deep interest in a variety of music. She loved Coca-Cola, playing mahjong solitaire, tending to her plants, and going to musicals with her daughters. Rose had a very distinct, soothing voice. Many times when she was out running errands people would say, “I knew that was you Ms. Rose–I recognized your voice!”Among those left to cherish Rose’s memory are her children: Eli, Joyce, and Camille Davila; her grandchildren: Janessa Carlin and Micah Martinez; her nephew: Philip Zavala; along with many of her treasured friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other loved ones including Michelle Miller, Michael Martinez, Raymond Gonzales, and Frankie Keim. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents; her beloved sister, Amelia “Molly;” and brothers, Daniel Jr. “Danny” and Reuben Zavala. The world will certainly be a duller place without her and her loss leaves a monumental void in her family. Those who love her can hope to find solace in the lyrics of one of her favorite musicians, Bob Marley: “Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cause every little thing is gonna be alright.”To our beautiful, sweet Mama, Mimi, best friend, and protector—you are our heart and soul and we are endlessly grateful for the profound impact you made on our lives. You are the absolute best of us and we will make every effort to embody your abundant wisdom, courage, and humanity. We love you and we will miss you forever.A visitation will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory located at 393 N Interstate Hwy 35, Georgetown, TX 78628 on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., with the Rosary starting at 6:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. also at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
