

Thomas Franklin Boyd, III, 71 of Georgetown, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 after a short but very courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born October 22, 1939 in Cleburne, Texas to the late Thomas Franklin, Jr. and Virginia Elizabeth Bratcher Boyd. He spent many years in the Houston, and Austin/Georgetown area. Tom was a graduate of Sam Houston State University in 1972 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He served his country honorably for several years in the United States Air Force Reserves. Tom worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer for many years. He was passionate about his work and took great pride in trying to help the troubled youth he came in contact with during his career. Tom’s career was largely spent with Harris County Probation system. After moving to the Georgetown area, he worked for many years as a building contractor. Tom married Cindy Conlee on November 12, 1994 in Round Rock. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Franklin Boyd, Jr. and Virginia Elizabeth Bratcher Boyd; and his brother-in-law, Harry Moore. Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 17 years, Cynthia A. Conlee of Georgetown; his son, Thomas Franklin Boyd IV and his wife Teresa of Houston; sister, Barbara Moore of California; his loving grandchildren, Brittany Boyd, Thomas Boyd, Braden Boyd and Taryn Boyd; nephews James Conlee, Tom Moore, Mike Moore and niece Kathy Moore; along with many other loving family members and friends.
