I was an intern at the IT department at Scripps when I first worked with Allan. He always looked out for the student workers and offered kind advice. Also, he kept it real and always had a great sense of humor about him. :) He had so much kindness in his heart and was a good person, which feels too rare nowadays. You never forget the people that made a difference in your life. Allan, we miss you and I regret we never got to say hi again since those short few ten years ago.

I met Allan when he interviewed with us at Scripps College.  I enjoyed our time together at the job in Information Technology.  Allan was a kind man, a thoughtful man, and a friend.

Just in the past year I realized that Allan had worked with my father at FMC, as I was going through old documents.  I was able to share this with Allan recently and we had a giggle about it.   What are the odds.  

My sincere condolences to his family and friends.  Allan will be deeply missed.  RIP.

My heart goes out to the family, I was so sorry to hear of Allan’s passing. Working with him during his last years at Scripps College was a great pleasure. He helped me to get settled in and was very helpful in providing me with information that made my journey a little bit smoother.

A Life Defined by Loyalty, and Honor 
​It's truly difficult to try to summarize a life as meaningful as Allan Cooper Sr.'s in just a few words. For me,  Allan wasn't just one person in my life; he was three essential pillars: a brilliant colleague, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of my chosen family circle.
​As a colleague, Allan had an unwavering integrity and a gift for thoughtful patience as with the Scripps student interns. He didn't just solve problems; he mentored  through them, taking the time to explain the 'why' alongside the 'how.' He taught them that True Leadership meant listening first, and that the Best work is done when everyone feels valued, appreciated, and respected.
​But the Allan we will sorely miss is the man who carried that same steadfastness into his friendships. He was, quite simply, the anchor for so many of us. I remember one specific time when I was struggling with a *Major* life decision. Allan didn't give me advice; he just listened—really listened—and then quietly reminded me of the strengths I often forgot I had. 
​He wasn't family by blood, but by choice, commitment, and heart. He was there for the milestone celebrations, such as the birth of my granddaughter MacKenzie. She looked forward to coming by the office so she could visit with Allan, he was always very thoughtful and kind to her, especially.  
​Allan, the void you leave is immeasurable. We will carry your wisdom, your warmth, and your memory with us always. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, for being our trusted colleague, our loyal friend, and my beloved confidant. We are all better people for having known you. May you rest in peace. 🥰💕👼🏽
