Bob is survived by his wife, Betty, of 57 years, his son, Timothy, grandchildren Jolene Marie and Scott Andrew Irwin and great grandson, Shane Bassett-Irwin. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Shields; niece, Deborah Leonhardt; and nephews Mark (and Bernadine) and Ron Greenwood.
Bob loved his family and especially enjoyed attending his great grandson, Shane's, baseball games. Bob was a truck driver most of his life but completed his work career as a maintenance worker for the City of West Covina. In retirement, he spent many years camping and serving as a camp host and volunteer maintenance worker in the State park system (his favorites being the majestic coastal redwoods) where he loved to talk to campers and anyone who crossed his path. His grandchildren are known for saying that, "Grandpa never met a stranger."
