Cary L. McCabe

Cary L. McCabe of Glendora, CA passed away at the age of 64 on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital. Born on March 1, 1952 in Ames, Iowa, he was the second child of Vernon and Janice McCabe, and younger brother to his sister, Linda. Cary and his family moved to Glendora, California in 1954 and he remained a true Californian all his life. Cary was a kind, loving and supportive friend to all, and made it his mission to make everyone around him smile with his sense of humor. Never one to miss an opportunity to perform, Cary had a flair for voices and characterizations. He also was a skilled singer and shared his voice through singing in bands as well as through karaoke. He had a twenty-year teaching career through Perris Unified School District, where he taught sixth grade and was a treasured teacher to many of his students. On any given day, you could find him perfecting his golf swing on the course, watching sports, or writing short stories. Cary was man with a big heart who lived his life for others and his laughter and smile will truly continue to live within the hearts of all the people who knew and loved him.

Cary is survived by his eldest daughter Amanda Leavelle and her husband Bryan Leavelle, his youngest daughter Natalie Diaz, his granddaughter Marion Leavelle, his mother Janice McCabe, his sister Linda Mills and her husband Tom Mills, and their children Tommy Mills, Andrea Giorgi and Kym Kaelber.
