Casey Gelvin

October 21, 1974 - November 4, 2023

William, affectionately known as Casey to those close to him, was a vibrant and fun-loving man. He was born in Beaufort, South Carolina and grew up in Wray, Eastern Colorado. In 1995, he ventured to California in search of employment. Shortly thereafter, he crossed paths with the love of his life, Anne Gelvin and they were married on September 30th, 1995. Casey embraced the role of a stepfather to Anne's children, Afthan and Richard Pope. In November 1997, Casey and Anne welcomed their daughter Chelsea Gelvin and two years later, in April of 1999, Alexander Gelvin completed their family.

Casey had a profound appreciation for life, a deep love for his family, and a reputation as a loyal friend. He is survived by his wife Anne, four kids Afthan Singh, Richard Pope, Chelsea and Alex Gelvin, son in law Chanon Singh, grandchildren Malana, Mason, Noah Singh, and his most recent grandson, Ice Smith Lockridge. His parents, Jeanne and Les Gelvin, his sister Erika Beckner, brother Kyle Gelvin, stepsisters Kristen Trussel, Dixie Gelvin, and Nikki Gelvin. Casey is also survived by numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends, including his closest companion, Mark Tarver, whom he fondly referred to as his "road dog."

Casey faced health challenges since a back surgery in early 2000, which triggered seizures leading to a coma in December 2009. Subsequent to this, he underwent intensive medical care, grappling with a decline in health that manifested as multiple physical and mental issues.

While we mourn his passing, we eagerly anticipate the day when we will reunite with him in a perfect and healthy state. Our hope is anchored in the promise of a future described in Job 14:14,15 and Revelation 21:3,4, where sickness and death will be no more.

Casey's absence leaves a void in the lives of all those he touched, and he will be dearly missed.
