Cynthia Jayne Munson, 49, died on March 5, 2020, at City of Hope in Duarte, California after a brave and courageous three-year battle with breast cancer. She fought like a warrior. Through it all she kept her incredible spirit, her gorgeous smile and her love of life.
Cindy was born on the May 23, 1970, in Arcadia, California to Gary and Jane Lefebvre. She attended Glendora High School, graduating in 1988 and then went on to earn a master’s degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University in 1996. Cindy met and fell in love with Daniel Munson in high school, and they were married soon after graduation on Feb. 10, 1990. Cindy and Danny had a love story for the ages, inspiring friends and family with their deep and enduring love and commitment while raising their beautiful family--a son, Tyler and two daughters, Haylee and Karlee. They enjoyed taking road trips, spending time together at their place in Hawaii, and hanging out at Donner Lake. They were passionate about listening to live music and travelled all over the country to see their favorite bands. Everywhere they went, Danny loved to take pictures of his gorgeous wife. Cindy adored Danny! They celebrated 30 incredible years of marriage just a few short weeks ago.
More than anything, Cindy loved being a mother. Her children were her absolute pride and joy and she dedicated her life to them. She treasured her family and spending time with them. Cindy also enjoyed a successful career as a beloved teacher with Glendora Unified, first at Stanton and then at La Fetra Elementary. She made learning fun and would do anything to help her students succeed. She continued teaching and loving her students throughout her illness. She also loved working out, cycling, shopping, traveling, being with her huge group of friends and socializing. She was the life of the party with a smile that was truly unforgettable. She is greatly missed by all who spent time with her.
She is survived by her husband Danny, son Tyler, and daughters Haylee (husband Clinton) and Karlee. She is also survived by her parents, Gary and Jane Lefebvre, her brother Jerry (wife Rose), her sister Sally (husband Michael), father-in-law Bob (wife Joann), mother-in-law Karin, sister-in law Lisa (husband Bory), brother-in law Bobby (wife Kim), brother-in law Lance, numerous adored nieces and nephews, a big extended family and her loyal friends.
Her memorial service is tentatively scheduled for May 16, 2020, 1p.m. at Glenkirk Church in Glendora, California. Reception immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Cindy’s name to the Young Survival Coalition (https://www.youngsurvival.org/).
