Eric Cortes

Eric passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2021 at his childhood home in La Puente California. It was at this same city where in 1994 he met the love of his life, Nilda Garcia. They married and had 5 wonderful children, Stefani, Tatyana, Michael, Mariah, and Frank. They relocated to Sacramento where Eric made a career in Sales, which he was great at. Although, his wife and him were separated at the time of his passing, they both share the great love for their children. Eric enjoyed watching and coaching his kids in soccer and football. He was one of their biggest cheerleader. He was so extremely proud of his children and of his God-Daughter, Gaby Garibay. Eric also helped raise 4 foster children, Chante Rios (Nilda’s biological cousin) and foster siblings; Mary Cummings, Jeremiah Johnson and Isaiah Johnson. He was a very important and special father figure to these kids, he loved them dearly. His family and friends will remember his sense of humor and funny story tellings. His love for the Dodgers, Raiders and Lowriders will always remind us of him. His smile and laughter will live in our hearts forever. Rest In Peace Eric, until we meet again.

His children will lay him to rest in a private burial for immediate family members. Those who would like to pay their last respects, his funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 19th at 11am, Saint Robert’s Church 2243 Irvin Way, Sacramento, Ca 95822.
