Kenneth Allen Dill

Kenneth Allen Dill, known to all who loved him as Kenny, age 55, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at his home in Alta Loma, CA. He was born November 3, 1964 to Robert E. Dill, Sr. (2018) and Sadie Ann (Barfield) Dill (1993) in Covina, California where he was raised with his sister Kimberly “Kim” Ann (Dill) Wiedeman and brother Robert “Bobby” E. Dill, Jr. Kenny graduated from Gladstone High School in 1983. At 17, Kenny began working for his father at Swiss House Machining in Glendora, CA. He dedicated 18 years as a machinist, before starting his career as a Concrete Pumper in 1999. He worked for Merli Construction, and then moved on to CONCO Construction. He retired in 2015, due to failing health. Pumping concrete was a job he truly loved, as it allowed him to be outside, and at a different location every day. Kenny would come home exhausted, filthy, and happy as could be. He took so much pride driving around Southern California and sharing the stories of all the buildings, bridges, freeways and homes he helped to build.

While pumping was his career, his family was his life. Kenny is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sheri Ann (Gilson) Dill and his three children Korey Allen Dill, Sadie Ann (Dill) Cervantes, and Sunni Frances Dill; his sister Kim (husband Del Wiedeman) and brother Bobby (wife Susan Dill) and his nieces and nephews Tyler, Brianna, Garrett, Eden and Mackenzie and eight great nieces and nephews who always referred to him as “Uncle Benny”. Spending time with family and friends was his favorite thing to do. He loved to ride his quad in the dunes, and his motorcycle to anywhere it would take him. He had a passion for anything on wheels, which could be seen by all of the vehicles he restored. But by far, his favorite thing to do was to simply sit around with his friends and family, enjoy a good meal, and talk until the wee hours. He was known for a friendly wave from the front yard, the garage door always being open so you could just walk right in for a chat. Being with people, sharing laughs and stories, and making all those around him feel at home was his gift.

Family, friends, and all those who were touched by Kenny’s infectious smile, kind heart, and sense of humor, are invited to the Dill Family home for a potluck and backyard party on Saturday, January 18th 2020 from 3-6:00 p.m. We will reminisce, laugh, console and share our love for this amazing man who left such a lasting impression on all of us.
