

Lavada Ruth Storment was born to Clarence Griffin and Alma McAlister Griffin on February 11, 1928, in London, Arkansas. Lavada attended London High School where she was an avid basketball player for the London Hornets. Following World War II, Lavada met the love of her life, Orlin Storment. They married on December 13, 1945, and left Arkansas to begin their life in Covina, California and both worked at Vita-Pakt Citrus Products. They were blessed with three children and spent 52 happy years together until his death.
Orlin, Lavada and their children spent many happy times camping and water skiing with family and friends. Lavada was a production supervisor at Conrac Corporation for 28 years, retiring in 1988. Orlin and Lavada attended the Inter Community Church of God in Covina.
Lavada continued to live in the family home until 2015 when she moved to Upland, California to be near family and her last years resided at Sunlit Gardens Assisted Living. On August 4 Lavada ended her journey there, surrounded by family and friends, and joined her beloved husband, Orlin, and son, David.
Lavada is survived by two daughters Gail (David) Walsh of Alta Loma, California and Donna Storment of Anderson, Indiana; two granddaughters Kelli Walsh Holleman (Tom) of Miami, Florida and Erin Walsh-Moloney (Jim) of Newport Beach, California; three great grandchildren, Clara Holleman of Charleston, South Carolina, Will Holleman and Charlie Holleman of Miami, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Orlin, son David and her sisters Geneva (Lewis) Collins and Norma Kay (Bud) Davis.
