Marciano Meza Gaona

Marciano Meza Gaona nació el 2 de abril de 1937 en el estado de Michoacán, México, hijo de Porfirio Meza e Ignacia Gaona. Fue uno de cuatro hermanos, junto a Julio, Santos y Eleuteria.

Desde una edad temprana forjó su carácter en el trabajo del campo, desempeñándose como campesino y agricultor en el rancho de San Pedro Chicácuaro. Fue allí donde conoció a la que sería el gran amor de su vida, la Srta. Graciela Jiménez Adame, con quien contrajo matrimonio el 2 de febrero de 1959. Su unión fue bendecida con 67 años de matrimonio, caracterizados por el amor, la lealtad y el compromiso mutuo.

Poco después de casarse, participó en el Programa Bracero, lo que lo llevó a trabajar en los estados de Texas, Arizona y California, dedicándose a la cosecha de algodón, naranjas y fresas. Posteriormente, el matrimonio se trasladó a la Ciudad de México, donde nació su primera hija, Leticia, y donde él trabajo en los Laboratorios Julián. Más adelante, regresaron a Morelia, Michoacán, lugar en el que establecieron su hogar y comenzaron a formar una familia numerosa. Durante esta etapa, también sirvió como policía patrullero en la ciudad de Morelia.

En 1971, decidió emprender una nueva etapa al trasladarse a los Estados Unidos en busca de mejores oportunidades. Trabajó para la empresa Monrovia Nursery hasta su jubilación a los 62 años. En 1980, junto a su esposa, tomó la importante decisión de emigrar definitivamente con sus hijos a este país, logrando reunir a toda la familia para el año 1981. En 1983 nació su hijo menor, Abel, a quien pudo acompañar y disfrutar desde sus primeros días de vida.

En 1986, tomó la mejor decisión para su vida espiritual: consagrándose plenamente a su Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. Fue bautizado en Su nombre en la Iglesia de La Puente bajo el pastorado de Camilito López, y posteriormente continuó su crecimiento espiritual bajo el liderazgo del Pastor Mario López. También congregó en la Iglesia de Azusa con el Pastor Henry Patiño. Hombre de fe firme y convicción profunda, permaneció fiel a Dios y comprometido con su vida espiritual.

Marciano fue un hombre sencillo, íntegro y de firmes valores. Valoraba la palabra dada, la honestidad y, por encima de todo, la responsabilidad de sacar adelante a su familia. Fue bendecido con ocho hijos, diecinueve nietos y diez bisnietos.

Disfrutaba profundamente de la convivencia familiar; le alegraba ver su hogar lleno de vida, rodeado de sus seres queridos. Se distinguió por su amabilidad y su facilidad para cultivar amistades duraderas. En su juventud, también fue reconocido como jinete de toros bravos, destacándose por su valentía y destreza.

Fue un padre ejemplar, presente y responsable, que enseñó con su conducta y dejó una huella imborrable en sus hijos. Como abuelo, fue amoroso y generoso, brindando a sus nietos un cariño inigualable.

Su partida deja un vacío imposible de llenar, pero también un legado perdurable de amor, fe y perseverancia.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Graciela; sus hijos; sus diecinueve nietos; sus diez bisnietos; su hermana Eleuteria; y una familia extensa que lo recordará con profundo amor y gratitud. Descanse en paz.3

-In Loving Memory of Marciano Meza Gaona

Marciano Meza Gaona was born on April 2, 1937, in Michoacán, Mexico, to Porfirio Meza and Ignacia Gaona. He was one of four children, alongside his brother Julio and his sisters Maria Santos and Eleuteria.

Raised in humble beginnings, he worked as a farmer and agricultural laborer on the ranch of San Pedro Chicácuaro. It was there that he met the love of his life, Miss Graciela Jiménez Adame. The two were united in marriage on February 2, 1959, embarking on a lifelong partnership blessed with 67 years of devotion, faith, and companionship.

Shortly after their marriage, he joined the Bracero Program, working diligently in Texas, Arizona, and California, harvesting cotton, oranges, and strawberries. After three years, the couple relocated to Mexico City, where their first child, Leticia (“Letty”), was born. During this time, he was employed at Julián Laboratories of Mexico. The family later returned to Morelia, Michoacán, where they established their home and began raising a large and loving family. There, he served honorably as a patrol police officer for about 9 years.

In 1971, he ventured once more in pursuit of opportunity and moved to the United States. He was employed by Monrovia Nursery, where he worked faithfully until his retirement at the age of 62. In 1980, he and his wife made the courageous decision to immigrate permanently with their children, successfully reuniting the entire family in the United States by 1981. In 1983, at the age of 46, their youngest son, Abel, was born—a child he cherished deeply, having the joy of being present from the very beginning of his life.

In 1986, he made the most profound decision of his life by dedicating himself fully to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was baptized in His name at Iglesia de la Puente under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Camilito López, and later Pastor Mario López. He also worshiped at Iglesia de Azusa under Pastor Henry Patiño. A man of quiet strength and deep conviction, he remained steadfast in his faith and committed to the fellowship of the church throughout his life.

Marciano was a humble man with strong principles who valued his word, integrity, and, above all, the responsibility of providing for his family. God blessed him richly with eight children, nineteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

He found great joy in the presence of his family, and thoroughly cherished gatherings, celebrations, and especially in seeing his home filled with loved ones. Known for his kindness and warmth, he formed friendships easily and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

In his youth, he lived life with boldness and vigor. He was known locally as a skilled bull rider, admired for his courage and resilience.

He was a devoted and present father who led by example, instilling values of faith, responsibility, and perseverance. As a grandfather, he was loving and generous, delighting in his grandchildren with a tenderness that was unmatched.

His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Marciano Meza Gaona is survived by his beloved wife, Graciela; his sons and daughters; nineteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his sister Eleuteria; and a large and loving family who will forever cherish his memory.
