Margarito Sanchez

Margarito Sanchez, 82, of El Monte, CA, passed away on May28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and beautiful memories. Born as the eldest of 13 siblings, Margarito learned the values of family, leadership, and responsibility early in life. He carried those traits with him always, especially as the devoted husband and partner to his beloved wife, Maria, for 57 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life and family rooted in love. Margarito was a true jack-of-all-trades. A gifted electrician, TV repairman, and an all-around handyman, there was absolutely nothing he couldn't fix. He eventually brought his strong work ethic to Clifton’s Cafeteria, where he climbed the ladder from a humble busboy all the way to Department Head of the Bakery department—a testament to his dedication, leadership, and passion for baking. His incredible talent brought joy to so many, and his delicious pastries will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Above all, Margarito was the ultimate supporter of his family. He was an awesome grandfather and great-grandfather whose eyes lit up whenever his family gathered. When he wasn't fixing things or baking, he could be found cheering on his favorite soccer teams or quietly enjoying his passion for collecting coins. Margarito and Maria built a loving family, bringing up four children who have since married and expanded the family. Frank and his wife Ivone, Maggie and her husband Enrique, Connie and her husband Porfirio, and Linda and her husband Javier. He was always a very loving grandfather to his grandchildren Ivana, Alexis, Danielle, Cassandra, Andrew, and Nico. In his final months, he had the joy of meeting his great-granddaughter, Juliana. He leaves behind a large, loving extended family. He will be deeply missed by a wide community of friends who will forever celebrate the incredible impact he made.
