
Marjorie Mae Vail, age 90, passed away on December 13, 2014. Marjorie was born in Fountain City, Indiana on December 6, 1924 to Rev. Eugene Clair Elmore and Ester Cynthia Elmore. Ester passed away when Marjorie was only 5 years old. In 1931, Rev. Elmore moved Marjorie and her younger sister Imogene to Pasadena where Rev. Elmore pastored many churches in the Southern California area. In 1956, Marjorie married Kenneth E. Vail, Sr. and enjoyed 45 years together before Ken Sr. passed in 2001. Marjorie was an accomplished painter and president of the East Valley Art Association for many years. She shared her love for painting with many of her grandchildren and their friends. Marjorie was an active member in the life of her church. She was an important part of the “Keeping in Touch” ministry and was known for her delicious cookies ready at a moments notice. Marjorie has three children, Donna Shaffer, Ken Vail, and Tina Ashton. She also has six grandchildren: Deena Norton, Robert Shaffer, Ken Vail III, Lauren Vail, Christopher Ashton, and Tianna Ashton. And Marjorie has three great grandchildren: Hunter and Taylor Ashton, and Araina Ashton.
Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 am at Covina United Methodist Church 437 W. Hollenbeck Road in Covina, Ca. 91723.
