Rafael Eduardo Gomez

Rafael Eduardo Gomez was born on October 24th, 1946 in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico to the parents of Maria del Rosario Ponce-Gomez and Jose Antonio Gomez-Gomez. Rafael had a family of 4 sisters and 3 brothers; Rafael was the 2nd oldest of his siblings. Growing up he was a very caring brother and son, who loved spending time with his family. His uncle Donato Ruvalcaba and aunt Concepcion Gomez raised Rafael, and inspired him to have his own business. In turn he did start his own business in 1974 and kept it for about 30 years. At the young age of 19 he met the love of his life, Sara Estrella-Gomez. After two years of dating they were married on April 26, 1969. On February 6, 1970 their first son “El Zorro” Rafael Eduardo Gomez II was born. On October 24,1972 on the day of his birthday, “Mi Amor” Jannette Elizabeth Gomez was born. On April 4, 1977, their youngest child “El Terriblin” Ricardo Eduardo Gomez was born. Rafael give his kids these names of affection.

As a family, he enjoyed camping, and taking his family on road trips to spend quality time with family and enjoy the scenery of the open road. His favorite hobbies included gardening, eating, dancing, and singing. Rafael Eduardo Gomez enjoyed spending time with his entire family and he was always a joy to have around. He always brought a smile and laughter to anyone who knew him. At family events he was the life of the party and he made every party a memorable one.

On July 11, 2012 Rafael left this world after fighting a strong battle against his illnesses. He was surrounded by his loved ones still putting a smile on their faces until his very last moments. Our memories with him will always be cherished and his legacy will live in our hearts forever.
