Ron was born October 30th, 1975 in Long Beach to Ronald Sr. and Toni Ortiz.
Ron was a man with a larger than life personality, and a smile to match. A master of persuasion, who could charm his way out of just about anything- a trait he passed on to his children, much to the dismay of his wife. He pulled pranks with ease, and was impossible to stay mad at. While humor was a major part of who Ron was, the most memorable, and important, part of Ron was the greatness of his heart. He had the ability to make anyone feel that they found a best friend in him. He made sure everyone felt they mattered, and never turned his back to someone in need. Ron believed in putting children first and helping them believe in their own potential; he coached youth football, and if you ever saw him watch his favorite teams play, you would think he coached the Dodgers, Lakers and Cowboys too. He also believed in silver linings, bear hugs, shopping, the healing power of a good belly laugh, Harley Davidson, backyard barbeques, the timeless appeal of black t-shirts and Chuck Taylors, family outings, and never turning down an opportunity to spoil himself, his wife or his children. He will be forever missed by not only his family, but by all those fortunate enough to call him a friend.
Ron is survived by his wife of ten years, Martha A. (Leon) Ortiz; his children, Gabriel Ortiz, Jonathan Ortiz, Lola Ortiz, Mia Ortiz; his father Ron Sr, and mother Toni ; his brother Alex; sister Jessica; and grandfather Edward Gonzalez.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Oakdale Mortuary in Glendora. Services will be held Friday, January 22nd, at Dignity Memorial, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established for his family and can be found at https://www.GoFundMe.com/RonOrtiz
