Teresa Plascencia

Today we remember our beloved sister Teresa, Tía Tere, TT.

Born on August 9, 1947, in León, Guanajuato, México, she was the second of eleven children. From an early age, she carried a deep love for her family, a love that guided her entire life. In 1965 she came to California, where she began a new chapter filled with devotion, creativity, and care.

Teresa had many gifts. She was a talented cook, and no family gathering ever felt complete without one of her delicious dishes on the table. She also found joy in crocheting, she loved making blankets for her many nieces and nephews, each one stitched with thought and deep love for each recipient.

She was a loyal and faithful companion to her mother, standing by her side until her passing in 2015. Teresa held a wealth of family history and delighted in sharing it, keeping memories alive for future generations. She also loved music of all kinds and enjoyed discovering the world through armchair travel.

Above all, Teresa gave of herself, her time, her talent, and her heart to those around her. Her legacy is one of faith, warmth, devotion, and love for family. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the stories shared, the meals she prepared, and the love she gave so freely.

Hoy recordamos a nuestra amada hermana Teresa, Tía Tere, TT.

Nació el 9 de agosto de 1947, en León, Guanajuato, México, fue la segunda de once hijos. Desde temprana edad, tenía un profundo amor por su familia, un amor que la guio su vida entera. En 1965 llegó a California, donde comenzó un nuevo capítulo lleno de devoción, creatividad, y cuidado de su familia.

Teresa tenía muchos dones. Era una talentosa cocinera, y ninguna reunión familiar se sentía completa sin uno de sus deliciosos platillos en la mesa. Amaba tejer cobijas para sus muchas sobrinas y sobrinos, cada una tejida con pensamientos y profundo amor por cado uno de los que las recibirían.

Fue fiel compañera de su madre, permaneciendo a su lado hasta su fallecimiento en el año 2015. Teresa tenía una riqueza de la historia de la familia y se deleitaba en compartirla, manteniendo los recuerdos vivos para las futuras generaciones. También amaba la música de todos géneros y disfrutaba descubrir el mundo viajando desde su sillón.

Sobre todo, Teresa dio de si misma, de su tiempo, su talento, y su corazón para aquellos que la rodeaban. Su legado es uno de fe, calor, devoción, y amor por la familia. La extrañaremos profundamente, pero su espíritu vive en las historias que compartió, las comidas que preparó, y el amor que dio libremente.
