Theodore R. “Ted” Bruce (87) Passed away at home Sunday evening, August 4th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born Tuesday, August 11, 1931 in Waterloo, Nebraska to John T. & Emma B.E. Bruce, Ted graduated from Waterloo High School, where he was a member of the football team. Well known to the Wilbur, Washington community as a clerk for ten years at Sandy’s Grocery, Ted also enjoyed calling Bingo at the Wilbur Senior Citizen’s Center, volunteering with the Wilbur VFW Post until it’s closing and attending Community Presbyterian Church of Wilbur. Prior to moving to Wilbur, Ted had worked for the Seattle School District for five years and as a Boilermaker for eighteen years. In the spring of 2009, Ted married Helen Wetterhus-Scheibner in the Community Presbyterian Church of Wilbur. A talented artist who could skillfully sketch people and animals, Ted loved kneeling by a creek or river panning for gold, being an amateur rock collector and riding his black “Honda Goldwing 1000” for years.
Predeceased by his first wife: Mary “Lou” Bruce and son: Terry A. Bruce; Ted’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife: Helen Bruce; children: Robert O. Bruce (Lynda), Boyd E. Bruce, Craig S. Bruce (Cedric), Thomas L. Scheibner (Grace) and Michael “Scott” Scheibner (Eileen); ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and sister: Francis Barnes.

A Memorial Service for Ted will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2019 in the Community Presbyterian Church of Wilbur, 11 NE Cole Ave, Wilbur, WA 99185.
