He was a former employee of Hurd Lock Corp. and a U. S. Army veteran. He was a gardener and enjoyed caring for his pets.
He is survived by his mother: Milly Abelson, three sisters and brothers-in-law: Diane and Joe Matherne, Julie and Tim Rudder, Gail and Bert Crowell, one brother and one sister-in-law: Mark and Kim Abelson, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Lloyd Abelson and was preceded in death by a brother: Scott Abelson.
