Mr. Sonnenburg was a machine operator and a member of Living Word Lutheran Church.
His family stated:
"He will be deeply missed, but his family is celebrating his eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
"He was originally from Milwaukee, Wis., where he worked and raised a family before retiring to Greene County."
Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Patricia Sonnenburg of Greenville,Wis., Dale and Terri Sonnenburg of Lannon, Wis., Glenn and Cindy Sonnenburg of Cedarburg, Wis., and Scott and Michele Sonnenburg of Milwaukee; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sonnenburg was a son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Sonnenburg and was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carol Sonnenburg.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-2 p.m. Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
Pastor Thomas Kock will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
