

He retired from the Greeneville Water Department.
Mr. Barner was a member of Pruitt Hill United Methodist Church where he served as trustee, treasurer and deacon.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Anna Barner; three sons and four daughters-in-law: Randy and Lisa M. Barner, Keith and Nina Miller, Jerome and Robin Arnett, Lisa Barner; a son-in-law: Ronnie Ryans; one sister and brother-in-law: Georgia and Gerry Gallahar; brother: John Lee Barner; mother: Willie Kate Barner; 12 grandchildren: Allison Barner, Jessica and Devon Studstill, Rebekah and Randy Mercer, Matthew and Tiffany Smith, Rachel Barner, Candice Barner, Gabriel Story, Sequoia Humphreys, Jameison Miller, Yvonne Hamilton, Carlos Arnett, and Rachael Arnett; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends and relatives; and his beloved dog and companion: Trinity.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Barner; a daughter, Cheryl Arnett Ryans; a son, Kevin Barner; a sister, Carol Rader; and an infant brother, Stanley Ray Barner.
The family will receive friends 4-8 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. William Pace, Rev. Van Scott, and Rev. Sharon Bowers officiating.
Interment will follow at Pruitt Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Story, Matthew Smith, Jimmy Phillips, Jameison Miller, Donavan Barner, Tristin McDonald and Carlos Arnett.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Dabbs, Allen Barner, Rodney Merriweather, William Combs, Walter Manuel, Johnny Hensley, William “Dude” Hamilton, Jerry “Pig” Sauceman, and the staff of the Greeneville Water Department.
