

He retired as a manager at United Oil.
Mr. Carmack was of the Baptist faith.
He cherished his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Ruth Carmack; children and spouses: Jeffrey and Sandy Carmack of Jonesborough, Pam and Gary Henderson of South Central Community, and Gary and Elizabeth Carmack of Johnson City; grandchildren: Chris Bowman of South Central, Matthew Carmack and Taylor Carmack of Jonesborough, and Nicole Henderson and Samantha Henderson of South Central; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Johnny and Ruby Johnson and Kenneth and Shirley Ramsey; sisters-in-law: Barbara Carmack of Sunnyside, Geri Johnson, Ann Johnson, and Evelyn Paige; special nieces: Tammy and Stephanie; and several nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was the son of the late Martin and Kathryn Carmack and was preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Carmack, and an infant brother, Gene Carmack.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday preceding the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Perry Cleek will officiate.
Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the Kingsport Highway. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery Saturday morning for the committal service.
His pallbearers will be Gary Henderson, Matthew Carmack, Alvin Metcalf, Kenneth Ramsey, Keith Cutshaw, Tommy Johnson, Johnny Allen Harris, Chris Bowman, Ray Purdue, and Jody Page.
