

Brenda Vina Collins Malone, age 78, of the Asheville Highway, Greeneville, passed away with her family by her side, Wednesday, January 31, at her home. She loved her husband, family, and her Lord most of all. She enjoyed attending all activities of her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Solomon Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, served as a pianist and was a youth leader. She loved music, crocheting, and her card ministry. She enjoyed traveling with the “gang”, going to South Greene ballgames, and riding motorcycles with “Byrd.”
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law: Myra and John Darnell, and Tammy Jones; grandchildren and their spouses: Kelsey and Josh Gibson; Devyn and Kelsi Darnell; and Sander, Alec and Adalynn Jones; nephews and spouses: Tim and Sonya Solomon, and Kevin Malone; nieces and spouse: Tonya and Joey Cloyd; Terra Graham; Bonnie Malone; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Brenda Sue Malone and her spouse, Kenneth; Charlotte Tweed and Pauline Malone.
She was the daughter of the late Bruce A. and Lavon Seaton Collins and was preceded in death by her husband, Glen E. “Byrd” Malone; a brother and his wife, Clarence and Kay Collins; a sister and her husband, Imogene and George Solomon; an infant sister, Lindia Collins; nephews: David Solomon, Chris Malone and Keith Malone; brothers-in-law: Don Malone, Bob Malone and his spouse, Mitzi, and Kay Tweed; sister-in-law and spouse: Betty and Lyndel Smith; father and mother-in-law: Hubert Allen and Selma Bales Malone.
The family will receive friends Saturday 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Minister Sonya Solomon and Rev. Tommy Collins will officiate.
Following the funeral service, interment will be conducted at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Tim Solomon, John Darnell, Josh Gibson, Devyn Darnell, Sander Jones and Alec Jones.
Honorary pallbearers are the Ladies of Solomon Lutheran Church, who were so special to her and lifelong friends, Sandy Broyles and Carolyn Bowers.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hannah Kirk, P.A., Dr. Candi Overholt, Greeneville-Greene County EMS, the staff and nurses of Caris Hospice, and special caretakers: Lyndsey Pickering, Marilyn Schnells, Riley Woods, Linda Manis, and Sally Dabbs.
