

He was an employee of the Greene Co. Sheriff’s Dept.
Mr. Shelton was of the Baptist faith.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam War.
Survivors include two sons: Victor L. Shelton and fiancée Amy R. Wise of Greeneville and Vance E. Shelton of Mountain City, Tennessee; one daughter: Felicia M. Shelton and fiancée Corey Allen Metcalf of Mosheim; one great granddaughter: Khloie Jayde Massengill; one great grandson: Braxton Jacoby Metcalf; a brother and sister-in-law: Richard and Cecile Shelton of Mosheim; a sister: Nancy Shelton Lanham of Midway; special nieces and nephews: Richard Shelton Jr. and wife Melissa of White Pine, Cheryl Shelton and fiancée Kelly Mashburn of Johnson City, Lisa Shelton and fiancée Sammy Myers of Mosheim, Kimberly Shelton Hensley and husband Jeff of Chuckey, Mindy Stills and husband Darrell of Greeneville, Heather Lanham Santiago of Midway; uncle: Bud Shelton of Greeneville; aunt: Rena Mae Witt of Midway; several great nieces and nephews; special friends: Jim MacDonald of Mosheim, Chris Ricker of Greeneville, Gloria Dolittle of Greeneville, and all his friends and co-workers at the Greene Co. Sheriff’s Dept.
He was the son the late Tom and Lucy Jones Shelton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Marie Malone Shelton; grandson: Kaleb White; and a brother: Tim Shelton.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Buster Shelton officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rankin Gregg, Mike Witt, Darwin Kinser, John Jones, Lynn Harrison, and J.D.Ashley.
Honorary pallbearers are the employees and staff of Greene Co. Sheriff’s Dept., the Greeneville Housing Authority, and the Greeneville Police Dept.
