

She worked as a caregiver over Greene County for 40 years.
She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed gospel music and being in church as long as her health permitted.
Survivors include her special brother and caregiver: Chester Brown; sister: Ileen Casteel of Greeneville; two sisters-in-law: Pearl Brown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and her special sister-in-law, Learline Brown of Greeneville; nieces and nephews: Leonard Brown of Lisbon, Iowa, Joyce Brown of Marshaltown, Iowa, Anna, Susan and Mark, and Bill Brown of Cedar Rapids Iowa, Eugene “Mik” Brown of Nashville, Tennessee, Robbie Brown and wife Catherine of North Carolina, Denise Brown Kite and fiancé Jeff Sauceman of Greeneville, and Ryan Sauceman; two special great nephews: Justin Kite and Logan Kite; several great nieces and great nephews; and special friends: Bonnie Johnson and the Johnson family, Ann Crittendon, Mary Jane and Chris Farmer, Vicky Solomon, Dr. Kenneth Nichols, and Phyllis Randolph.
Dixie was born October 2, 1936, to Dana M. and Trula Fortner Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Marie Brown; and three brothers: Hugh Brown of Lisbon, Iowa, Albert Brown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and an infant brother, Felix Brown.
The family would like to send our sincere gratitude and love to all the staff, nurses, and employees of Life Care Center for all the love and care that you gave to Dixie. You were like family to her. She loved all of you so much. And to Butterflies Are Free, we thank you for your service and love you gave to Dixie.
The family will receive friends from 2pm -4pm and 6pm-8pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tommy Collins, Donnie Brown, and Chaplain Mary Jane Farmer officiating.
Interment will be at 10:30am Saturday at Cross Anchor Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:30am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eugene “Mik” Brown, Robbie Brown, Logan Kite, Leonard Brown, Kenneth Brown, and Doyle Foulks.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Kenneth Nichols, Lance Solomon, Jon Solomon, Patti Fortner, Wade and Driscilla Harrison, Phyllis Randolph, Harold Dean Fortner, Doyle Foulks, Larry Haney, Tommy Southerland, Chris Farmer, and Joe Hickerson.
