Donald Ray Ramsey

He was retired from Hurd Lock and was a lifelong farmer.

He loved fishing with his grandson, tending his garden and sitting on his front porch.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years: Edna Gunter Ramsey; children and spouses: Mary Lou and Joe Rice, Mark and Sheena Ramsey, Rose and Michael Buckner, all of Greeneville; grandson: Caden Ramsey of Greeneville; a brother: Avery Ramsey of Asheville, North Carolina; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Arthur and Pauline Gunter of Marshall, North Carolina, Ronald and Neota Gunter, Walter Gunter, Barb and Bobby Laws, David and Sandra Gunter, all of Greeneville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was the son of the late Winston and Edna Chandler Ramsey and was preceded in death by three brothers: Clyde, Ralph, and Edward “Bo” Ramsey.

The family will receive friends 2-4 pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 4 pm Saturday, July 9, 2016, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Roger Dykes will officiate.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Gunter, David Gunter, Johnny Gosnell, Kyle Henry, Will West, and Ronald Gunter.
