

She retired from Greene Valley Development Center after 30 years’ service in the Dietary Division in 1994.
She became a devoted Christian in her teens and attended First Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
She is the eldest child of the union of W.J. Roberts Sr. and Della Tipton Roberts.
She enjoyed her retirement with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and traveling with her daughter and “favorite” son-in-law all over the U.S., Canada, and abroad, making memories.
She loved cooking for friends and family, telling jokes and laughing, raising beautiful flowers and helping others with care and compassion.
Loving survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Sheila and Russell Ooten of Greeneville; sons and daughters-in-law: Anthony and Barbara Rigsby of Greeneville, Keith Rigsby and Stephane Gunnels of Afton, and Kevin Rigsby of Jonesborough; devoted grandchildren who assisted in her care: Joshua and Brandi Rigsby, Erica and Teddy Jones, and Nicole Rigsby and fiancé Sam Thornburg; adored great grandchildren: Wesley and Noah Rigsby and Brent and Parker Jones; devoted brothers: Jimmie and Joe Roberts of Chuckey; sister-in-law: Sue Roberts of Leicester, North Carolina; step daughter-in-law: Margaret Rigsby of North Carolina; devoted and loving caregiver: Ms. Wanda Fulton; loyal shih tzu doggies: Pepe’ and Beau; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Hubert Rigsby; step-son: Clement Rigsby; brothers: Ben, Oscar, and Avery Roberts; sister: Bea Garner Miller; brother-in-law: James Miller; sisters-in-law: Edith Shelton Roberts and Betty Brown Roberts; and special nephew: Steven Todd Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 1-3pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. David Green, Rev. Rick Parvin, and Rev. Billy Holder officiating. At her request, soft music will be provided by Gar Cutshaw, a special friend of the family.
Interment will be in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mike Garner, Tim Garner, Estaban Dimas, Terry Botts, Wayne Jackson, and Bart Hartsell.
Honorary pallbearers are Silver Girls Club, Meredith and Bobby Broyles, Rev. Larry Neas and wife Kathy, Lynn and Kathy McNeese, Ruth Brown, Sandra Bright, Jane Murray and Tara Hensley, Shirley Brown, employees of Greene Coach Co. and Premier Transportation, Kathryn Armitage, Evelyn Cartwright, Harry and Charlotte Fortner, Smokey Mountain Hospice staff, Dr. Thomas Beckner and nurse Allison Lynch.
In lieu of flowers, her requests are contributions to Smokey Mountain Hospice Charity and the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society.
