

Mr. Shelton was a member of Doughty Chapel Church and was a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Louise Shelton; two sons and daughters-in-law: Junior and Rosalie Shelton and Stevie and Janice Shelton; two daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Gary Gregg and Brenda and Tim Sexton; grandchildren: Nabriska Shelton, Steven Shelton, Travis Gregg, Tabitha Prater and husband Julian, Brandy Shelton, and Chad Riley; step grandchildren: Melinda Hensley and Anthony Hensley; seven great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; nieces: Darlene Briggs and Cindy Weis; brother-in-law: Herman Malone and wife Polly; three sisters-in-law: Wanda Malone and husband Edward, Shirley Shanks and husband Tim, and Acena Shelton of Ohio; many friends, including: two very special friends, Cloyd and Hazel Cutshaw.
He was a son of the late Hazel Dixon Shelton and Grant Shelton and was preceded in death by his stepfather: Hubert Shelton; sister: Nina Fay Shelton; granddaughter: Candice Eve Massey; brother: Rex Shelton; and a nephew: Dennis Shelton.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home service. Rev. Eddie Malone and Rev. Leonard Cutshaw will officiate.
Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. Monday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. It is requested that family and friends meet at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
His pallbearers are Dusty Ricker, Ronnie Jones, Shawn Johnson, Anthony Hensley, Jonathan Jennings, and Eddie Farris.
The staff of Amedysis Hospice and Dr. Phillip Thwing will serve as honorary pallbearers.
