

He was a retired upholsterer.
He was a member of Central Christian Church for over 50 years during which time he held many offices.
He served with the U. S. Army in Europe during World War II and was awarded the Purple
Heart.
He loved his country, loved his family and friends, and lived his faith. Much to be admired and
missed….
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Lyndall and Hugh C. Seaver, and Sandra Cox; two grandchildren: Karen Morgan and husband, Guy; Kevin Shelton and wife, Becky; five great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren; one half-brother: Reuben East of Christiansburg, VA; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Darwin Sauls and Jerry Calhoun.
He was the son of the late Roland and Lillie Hall Reese and was preceded in death by his wife of
31 years, Bertha N. Thrift Reese; one grandson, Anthony Harris; and five siblings.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Charles Reese and Rev. Lee Harrison will officiate. Interment will follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Guy Morgan, Jeremy Harrison, Darwin Sauls, Douglas Shelton, Matthew Lane, Charles Turner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Switzer, Jerry Calhoun, Dr. James Rogers, all his friends at Central Christian Church, and the staff of Caris Hospice.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
