

She was a homemaker and a member of Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed working with her church family and cooking for church activities. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law: Charlotte and Eddie Adkins of Cleveland, Ohio, Frances Johnson of Greeneville, Wilma and Kay Lynn Darnell of Afton, Janet and Joel Stamper of Greeneville, Virginia and Charles Darnell of Greeneville; son and daughter-in-law: Paul and Carol Gunter of Chuckey; seven granddaughters; five grandsons; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special friends: Jean Jones and Gerald Shelton; special caregiver: Penny Hensley; and three special nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Calvin Gunter; a son: Terry Gunter; a daughter: Phyllis Gross; and five brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Helen Hall and Rev. Doug White officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Neas, Jerry Mysinger, Brian Maxwell, Stacy Metcalf, Cameron Parker, Justin Sexton, Billy Stamper, Willie Stamper, Michael Darnell, and Bobby Gross.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Joe Austin and staff, staff of Caris Hospice, members of Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy, and doctors and staff of Takoma Regional Hospital
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home and at other times at the late home, 2140 Shake Rag Road, Greeneville.
