

Francis Joseph Sanders, 90, of Greeneville, went to be with the Lord Thursday at his home. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1983 as a Chief Warrant Officer IV and from the Federal Civil Service as an administrator. He proudly served in WWII in the Pacific Campaign as a Navy Corpsman. Francis was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Rodney and Monica Sanders, Steven and Tammy Sanders, Duke and Jackie Sanders and Michael and Julie Sanders; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and special nieces, Sandra Savoie and Pamela Ecuyer.
He was the son of the late Harold I. and Lula Sanders. He was preceded in death by four of his brothers: Harold, Fulton, Robert and Aubrey.
Francis lived most of his life in New Orleans, LA and spent his last three years in Greeneville, enjoying the love of his family. He was also a devoted father and grandfather. He lovingly dedicated 68 years of marriage to his “Sweetie”, Maryvee Sanders, who recently went to be with the Lord.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Following the visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Father Jim Harvey officiating.
Entombment will be in Greenwood Cemetery and Mausoleum in New Orleans.
