

He retired from MECO after 23 years of service.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law: Garland and Linda Franklin, Bascon "B.Y." Franklin, Robert and Shelly Franklin, Gerald and Tamara Franklin, and Lynn and Christy Bolton; grandchildren: Tracy Franklin of Jonesborough, Melinda and Keith Lamb, Aaron and Jessica Hooper, April Hooper, Amanda Franklin, Timothy Franklin, and Christopher Bolton; great grandchildren: Alexis Franklin, Destiny Lamb, and Keegan Hooper; sister: Betty Jo Myers; and brother: Bo Franklin of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Ida Frances "Susie" Franklin; a daughter: Fannie Mae Franklin; a grandson: Chad Franklin; a brother: "Red" Andy Franklin; sisters: Helen Myers and Ruthie Harrison; and his parents: Taft Franklin and Polly Chandler Franklin.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Matthew Shelton officiating.
Interment will be at 11am Friday at Milburnton Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10am Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
