James "Jake" Paul Metcalf

He was a farmer and a member of Wesleyan Bible Tabernacle.

Survivors include his wife: Tenney “Tina” Metcalf; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mae Owens of Limestone, Margaret and Larson Shelton of Marshall, NC, Charlotte Dyer and Allen Owens of Greeneville; special niece and caregiver: Barbara Owens; several other nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Sylvania and Tokie Metcalf and was preceded in death by a brother,

Bill Metcalf; sisters, Alice Tipton, Lucy Metcalf; half-sister, Maedona Shelton; grandparents,

John and Lucy Metcalf.

The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.

Rev. Clinton Ryder, Rev. Nathan Shelton and Rev. Phillip Shelton will officiate.

Interment wil follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Coggins, Daniel Shelton, Lee Walls III, Robin Crowder, James Metcalf, Jr., Chris Metcalf, Roger Metcalf, Jr., Benny McGee and George Owens.

The gentlemen from Plaza Towers and from Wesleyan Bible Tabernacle will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
