

He retired from Pet Dairy with 22 years of service and Greene Farmers Co-Op and was currently working at Orbank Convenience Center.
Mr. Renner was a member of St. James Lutheran Church for over 70 years, where he also served on the church council.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Nolachuckey Ruritan Club for over 40 years where he also served as program chairman and treasurer. He was the Ruritan Troop committee member of Troop 96 BSA.
He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved his grandchildren.
He will be remembered as the man who sold corn out of his little green truck on the Asheville Highway. He loved meeting with his friends at the K-mart Koffee Klub.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years: Elsie Ragan Renner; daughter and son-in-law: Sheila and Dexter Goins of Greeneville; five grandchildren: Derrick and Katy Goins, Adam and Kelly Goins, Stephen and Pooja Jennings, Zoey Goins, all of Greene County, and Bryant and Katie Long of Mt. Olive, Illinois; great grandchildren: Cori Moore, Chloe and Dakota Goins, Hunter Long, Abby Jennings, and baby girl Goins; brothers and sisters-in-law: Harvey and Jean Renner, Glenn and Nancy Renner, Kenny and Sandy Renner, all of Greene County; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sue Bowers, Diane and Milton Parham, and Aldon Myers of Greene County; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Haskell and Sibyl Rupert Renner and was preceded in death by a son: Milo Renner; brothers-in-law: Delbert Bowers and Herbie Waddell; and recently, a sister: Marlene Myers.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Larry Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
His pallbearers will be his nephews: Mike, Russell, Shane, and Chris Renner, Larry Waddell, Garry Gregg, Jeff Southerland, Mike Ottinger, Jeremy Shepherd, and Josh Myers.
His buddies of the K-mart Koffee Klub and members of the Men’s St. James Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
