

Going to church was her life and she read her Bible through many, many times. She loved all kinds of flowers and knew the name of each one.
If anyone needed encouragement, support, or just a friendly smile, she was always there to give a helping hand. She was a sweet, kind and gentle person to everyone. She will be forever missed. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain.
She is survived by her husband, Tyson Gilland; one son, Allen Gilland; three daughters: Gina Dotson, Edwina (Sam) Melton, and Debbie Gilland; one sister, Gale Smith; two nieces, Renee Smith and Penny Fillers Mehta; three nephews: Marty Smith, Kenny Fillers, and Johnny Hanks; grandsons: T.J. Schlotman, Willie Schlotman, Ethan Dotson, Nick Gulley, and Wesley Dotson; and one great grandchild, Haylenn Jae Schlotman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucille Hanks; one brother, Gene Hanks; one sister, Joyce (Jo) Hanks Cutshaw; and two nephews, Niki Smith and Ricky Hanks.
The family will receive friends 1:00 – 3:00 pm and 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Lynn Mercer will officiate. Interment will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Her grandsons will be pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:00 am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
