He was a former truck driver for Allen Petroleum.
Mr. Reaves attended Gethsemane United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Gladys Reaves; daughter and son-in-law: Sandy and Wayne Southerland of Greeneville; granddaughter and husband: Jamie and Nathan Kimery of Chuckey; foster son and wife: Ricky and Tammy Dunbar of Erwin; brother-in-law: Vestal Watts; papaw to many: Luke, Mark, and Krystal Crum, Cheyenne Thompson and family, Colt and Lora Reaves; and his special dog: Lexie.
He was the son of the late Hubert and Eddie Reaves.
At his request, there will be no formal visitation of funeral services. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 2, at Gethsemane Church Cemetery with Owen Freeman officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9 am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Southerland, Jimmy Morrell, Larry Lowe, Mike Hopson, Benny and Kevin Laws, and Nathan Kimery.
