

He was a farmer.
Mr. Carter was a member of Jackson’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Clifford and Virginia Carter of Midway, Bennie Carter of the home, Ernie and Marie Carter of Whitesburg, Ralph and Debra Carter of Greeneville, and Nancy Goodstein; three daughters and sons-in-law: Betty and Gary Stout of Limestone, Sue and Ricky King of Whitesburg, and Stella and Robert Joyner of Blountville; grandchildren: John Lee Gregg, Makinlee and Landon King, Patricia (Corey) Gilliam, Chris Joyner, Paul and Cody Carter, and Angel Crawford; great grandchildren: Johnnie Gregg, David and Carter Gregg, and Zac and Cahleb Crawford; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lillian Carter, Rex and Phyllis Carter of Greeneville, Ellen Carter of Mosheim, Ken and Rita Carter of Bybee, and Alf Carter of Mosheim; sisters and brothers-in-law: Idell and Willie Burnette, Shirley and Loyd Golden, and Patsy and Buddy Hawk of Mosheim; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
He was the son of the late Crawford and Edna Solomon Carter and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years: Elizabeth Neomi Seay Carter; son: Elmer Carter; grandson: Andy Carter; sisters and brothers-in-law: Irene and Bill Rupert, and Mary and Homer Seay; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack Carter, Bill Carter, Tom Carter, George and Shirley Ann Carter, Barbara Carter, and Wayne Carter.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Laughlin Healthcare, Laughlin Hospital and Amedisys Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation,the funeral service will be held at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dannie Bell officiating.
Interment will be at 10am Thursday at Jackson’s Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9am Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ernie Carter, Robert Joyner, Paul Carter, Cody Carter, Ricky King, Landon King, Zac Crawford, Cahleb Crawford, John Lee Gregg, David Gregg, and Carter Gregg.
