

She was a retired factory worker.
Mrs. Powell was a member of Horse Creek Mission Church and a member of Women of the Moose Lodge in Greeneville.
She was a strong and kind hearted person and was loved by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: David Lynn and Janet Shelton of Chuckey; grandchildren: Anthony Shelton and wife, Teresa, of Warner Robbins, GA, Stephanie Hawkins and husband, Robbie, of Johannesburg, South Africa; great grandchildren: A. J. Shelton, Morgan Shelton and Sophie Hawkins; one sister: Sadie “Jiggs” Stanton of Chuckey; nieces: Paula Stanton, Pam Shelton and husband, Carman, Pat Hipps and husband, Jerry, JoAnn Renner; nephews: Bobby Jack Brown and wife, Marcie, Lynn Moncier and wife, Janice, and Tim Moncier; great niece: Tawnya Grizzle; great nephew: Chris Hipps; and great great niece: Mackinzee Grizzle.
She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Jessie Broyles Moncier and was preceded in death by her first husband, Esau Shelton; her second husband, Cassius Powell; brothers, Tivis “Briss” Moncier, Billy Joe “Guber” Moncier and Ross Moncier; two sisters, Mary Brown and Louise “Sis" Cutshall.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Bowens officiating.
Interment will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday, at Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Jack Brown, Anthony Shelton, Jerry Hipps, Jason Starnes, Mike Riddle and Melvin Underwood.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, to go in procession to the cemetery.
