Kathy was born May 17, 1958, and raised in Greeneville. Kathy attended Greeneville High and North Greene High Schools. She graduated from Walter State Community College and East Tennessee University for a Bachelors in Abnormal Psychology.
Kathy always had the biggest smile on her face. She was outgoing and always spoke her mind. She was wild and crazy and goofy. She loved the Lord and would pray and talk to Jesus all the time. Her faith that God had a plan for her here on Earth is what kept her hanging on through years of illness.
Kathy was a lifelong learner. Skipping grades in school graduating from college with honors and on the National Dean’s List. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and could complete an entire book within days when she was able. She loved to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Kathy was a classic rock fan since she first saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show with her grandmother even though her grandmother turned the tv off and called them “vermin’s”.
Kathy and her mother took trips to the beach in South Carolina and Florida as a kid and she would talk about the airplane rides that made her nervous, but she loved the thrill of seeing a new place.
Kathy explored this country from coast to coast. One of her favorite places was visiting the Navajo Nation in Arizona where the little girls made her a necklace.
Kathy loved riding her Harley Davidson and attended many motorcycle bike rallies along the east coast. Her favorite was here locally at Boozy Creek. She loved camping and enjoying nature and bikes at the same time.
Kathy lived in Sarasota FL for several years where she became close friends with several of the performers from Ringling Bros and Barnum and Biley Circus. She had an infectious personality and never met a stranger.
Kathy loved animals and had many throughout the years. She always had pets of some kind.
Kathy’s memory will live on through her family and friends. Even though her illness prevented her from spending time with them in the last few years she would call and talk on the phone at all hours of the day and night just to stay connected.
