

He was self-employed.
Mr. Rice attended New Haven Church. He really loved his church and his faith.
He was a member of the Tennessee Bear Hunters Association. He loved to go hunting, especially bear hunting, and cutting wood with his friends.
Survivors include his wife: Melba Rice; daughters and son-in-law: Shawn and Mark Collins and Donna Williams of Afton; grandchildren: Tristan Collins, Mercedes Collins, Peyton Williams, Morgan Williams, and Addison Williams, all of Afton; sister: Emma Johnson of Citrus, Florida; brothers: Steve Rice of Afton and Mont Rice of Greeneville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his favorite dogs: Belle and Gypsy.
He was the son of the late Anderson and Marie Lamb Rice and was preceded in death by his brothers: Jessie Rice and Neil Rice; and his sisters: Lillie Kesterson and Martha Rice.
The family will receive friends 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Saturday at New Haven Church.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday at New Haven Church with Rev. Keith Williams and Rev. Roger Stocton officiating.
Interment will follow in Upper Paint Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Rice, Randy Rice, Bill Kesterson, Stevie Rice, Dean Cutshaw, and Raymond Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are all his fellow bear hunters.
