

He retired from the City of DeKalb Street Dept. after 35 years of service.
Larry was born in Ramsey, Illinois, November 20, 1938.
Larry was a member of the Moose Lodge in DeKalb, Illinois, and Greeneville, Tennessee for many years.
He was an avid CB operator, where he was known as “Crazy Larry.” He communicated often with several of his CB buddies; he also loved to go fishing with his fishing buddies.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Beverly Hicks of Greeneville; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Vickie and Mike Martha and Joellen and Winton Conatser of Greeneville and Cathie Zeiter of Cortland, Illinois; son: Jerry Hicks of DeKalb, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Michael Martha, Cody Martha and wife Casey, Rosalie Zeiter, Whitney Zeiter, Candy Hicks, J.R. Sherrill and wife Tasha, Justin Sherrill and wife Jessika, and Jeremy Sherrill; six great grandchildren; sister: Bernidine Coulter of Ramsey, Illinois; sister-in-law: Sue Smith and husband Ray of Sycamore, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several very close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother: John and Ruby Hicks; his mother and stepfather: Verda and Harold Wiltse; three sisters: Jean Lucke, Margie Hollifield, and Rosalene Hicks; brother: Melvin Hicks; grandchild: Wilma Jo Zeiter; great grandchild: Gracelyn Sherrill; his pet cat: Ottis; and his pet dog: Freckles.
There will be no formal visitation or funeral service. His body will be cremated.
