Leona Belle Gass

She retired from Greene Valley Development Center and attended Calvary Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Lynda and Jerry Overholt ; six grandchildren: Jon Overholt, Russell Overholt, Tracy Yeary, John Gass, James Gass, Lori Dean; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister: Ruth Morelock; several nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Freshour and was preceded in death by her

husband, Grover “Bill” Gass; one son, James David Gass; four sisters, Kate Bishop, Virginia

Wines, Lockie Alton and Ruby Gardner; three brothers, Hermon, William Dover and John

“Pony” Freshour.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.

Rev. Rocky Johnson will officiate. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Zion Cemetery inBaileyton.

The family wished to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and the staff of Laughlin Health Care Center.

The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday preceding the funeral service at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery Friday for the committal service.
