

He was the owner of Challenge Industries and a member of Brown Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda Carter; two sisters-in-law: Karen (Mike) Lane, and Sylvia Carter; nieces: Nicki (Chris) Sentelle, Brittani (Nick) Hirschy, Teri Wright, Angi (Chuck) Brown; a nephew, Mike (Sherree) Carter; great niece, Rachel (Greg) Cox; great nephews: Carter Wright (Kiri Hamm), Bronson (Tessa) Carter, William Wright IV (Allie Moran); three great- great nieces and four great - great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eunice Carter and a brother, Lloyd Carter.
A graveside service will he conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Pastor Sarah Varnell will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:00 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 418 N State of Franklin Rd, Johnson City, TN 37604.
