

He was a rural mail carrier for 35 years with the Greeneville Post Office and was also an employee of the ASCS office.
Mr. Shelton was a member of Cedar Creek Church of God.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Greenland.
He loved golfing and farming and was a devoted husband.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Berta Vee Shelton; four sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Debbie Shelton, Jim and Tonya Shelton, Robert and Debi Shelton, Tim and Barbara Shelton, all of Greeneville; daughter and son-in-law: Beverly and Terry Reaves of Greeneville; grandchildren and spouses: Matt and Tamara Shelton, Luke and Jessi Shelton, Jimmy Glen Shelton and fiancé Saundra, Regan and Mantijn Kleinendorst, Kelly Shelton, Leslie Shelton, Anthony and Jennifer Reaves, Craig Reaves, Kasey and E.J. Swatzell; great grandchildren: Keira Shelton, Judah Shelton, Dani Shelton, Willow Kleinendorst, Allison Reaves, and Whitney Reaves; three sisters and brother-in-law: Pauline Solomon, Dorothy Hunt, Flossie and Ken Bowers, all of Greeneville; sisters-in-law: Emma Dean Shelton of Greeneville and Nancy Taylor of Chicago, Illinois; and brother-in-law: J.D. Cutshaw.
He was the son of the late Robert and Lilly Humphreys Shelton and was preceded in death by two infant brothers; a brother: Dave Shelton; sister: Juanita Grissom; brothers-in-law: Eunice Solomon, Glen Grissom, George Hunt, Raymond Cutshaw, and Harley Cutshaw; and grandchildren: Amanda Shelton and Stacey Shelton.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Darryl Allen, Rev. Matt Shelton, Rev. E.J. Swatzell and Luke Shelton will officiate.
Interment will follow at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the committal service. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
His pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Matt Shelton, Luke Shelton, Jimmy Glen Shelton, Mantijm Kleinendorst, Anthony Reaves, Craig Reaves, and E.J. Swatzell.
Honorary pallbearers will be his golf partners, post office workers, workers at ASCS Office, and his special friends: Donald (Duck) Collins, Bill Humphreys, the staff of Caris Hospice, Jan Moore, Diane Underwood, Dr. Dharmen Patel and staff, and Dr. John Boys
