Linda Jo Mathes

Survivors include her husband: Charles Mathes; son and daughter-in-law: Wade Lee and Trina Mathes of Jonesborough; grandsons: C.J. and Nick Mathes and Justin Higgins of Jonesborough; sister: Sharon Penley of the South Central Community; brother and sister-in-law: Gene Valentine of Mt. Carmel and Debbie Valentine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Walter and Karen Painter, Johnny Painter, all of the South Central Community, Willis and Carolyn Shanks of Chuckey; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Axie and Bob Nelson, Marie and Kenneth Nelson of Limestone; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth “Sissy” Thompson of Chuckey, Linnia Anne Painter of Limestone, Virginia Fellers of the South Central Community; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Wade and Nellie White Valentine.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Johns Buchanan will officiate.

Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Liberty Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends that would like to go in procession to the committal service meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Friday.

Her pallbearers will be Cleve Painter, John Morgan, Bradley Thompson, James Duncan, Paul Painter, and Curtis Valentine.

C.J. Mathes, Nick Mathes, and Justin Higgins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
